Google’s Project Fi gets Money Transmitter License

Google Project Fi gets Money Transmitter License

Google’s Project Fi is a really cool way to use the Wifi with leading carriers on your phone (Android?) and do tons of cool stuff. What was surprising when I spotted that Google had applied for a Money Transmitter License for Project Fi. Now why would Google be needing a money transmitter license for its Project Fi? I don’t know. Mystery yet to be solved.

The license was awarded for District of Columbia (DC).

    1. Strong possibility, but the need to have a different loop (and license) all together, does seem that there is more to Project Fi than we know. I think the tipping/tapping of payments will definitely be something.
