The European Economic Area (EEA) is a single market that allows for the free movement of goods, services, people, and capital within the European Union (EU) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries.

The EEA countries are:

  • Ireland

  • Malta
  • Netherlands
  • Norway

  • Slovakia
  • Slovenia
  • Spain
  • Sweden, and
  • Switzerland.

These countries are part of the single market and are subject to the same rules and regulations as the EU member states.
