Your MSB needs a bank.
Find an MSB bank account from providers that will actually look
Most banks decline a money services business before reading the file. We review what your business does, search providers that accept that activity, and introduce you. The bank decides. We make sure the right banks are deciding.
Introductions only to providers that have told us they consider your type of MSB.
Received
Received. Faisal or his team will reply with a short set of questions about your activity. If the answer is that no provider will take it as described, we will tell you that too.
Is this your situation?
You run or are about to run an MSB and every bank application has ended at the "nature of business" stage.
You have one account that could close at any time and no idea where the next one comes from.
You have been offered accounts by intermediaries who could not explain which bank sits behind them.
What you get
A written banking requirements summary: your activity, flows, currencies, volumes and the account type you actually need.
A shortlist of providers from our network that consider that activity, with the reason each is on the list.
Introductions, made by us, with your requirements already explained to the provider.
Guidance on the onboarding file each provider will ask for.
A clear answer when the honest answer is "no provider will take this as described", and what would have to change.
How it works
- 1
You send the form. We reply with a short set of questions about your activity and flows.
- 2
We review and tell you whether a search is worth paying for. If it is not, we say so.
- 3
We run the search, shortlist, and introduce you to providers that fit.
- 4
You go through each provider's onboarding. We stay available until a decision is made.
What this is not
- This is not an account. We do not open accounts. We find and introduce the banks that might.
- This is not for a business that has not yet decided what it will do, where, and in which currencies. Decide first, then come here.
- This is not a guarantee. A provider can still say no after an introduction.
Who you are dealing with
Faisal Khan LLC is a consultancy and brokerage in cross-border payments, MSB banking, licensing and compliance. The firm is based in Istanbul and works remotely with clients in the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Canada, the UAE and selected Asian markets.
The firm does not open accounts, issue licences or hold funds. It searches, matches, documents and introduces. The provider or the regulator makes the decision. That is the honest shape of this work, and it is stated here so you know what you are buying.
MSB bank account questions
Which banks accept money services businesses?
Some do, most do not, and the list changes. The banks and payment providers that accept MSBs each have an appetite for specific activities, geographies and volumes. There is no fixed list of MSB friendly banks to hand you; a search matches your activity to the appetite that exists today. Our MSB banking services page describes the wider work.
Why do banks refuse MSB accounts?
Compliance cost and risk appetite. A bank account for a money services business costs the bank more to monitor than a standard business account, so many banks decline the category outright rather than review each file on its merits.
How long does it take to open an MSB bank account?
It depends on the provider's onboarding process and the quality of your file. We do not quote a timeline. The search is the fast part. The provider's onboarding is the slow part, and it is theirs to run.
Do I need a licence before opening an MSB bank account?
Most providers expect the registration or licence that your activity requires to be in place or clearly in progress. What counts varies by provider and by jurisdiction. This is not legal advice. Check your own obligations before you apply.
What is the cost of an MSB bank account search?
Our advisory pricing for MSB banking work is published on faisalkhan.com. Provider fees are set by the provider and are separate. We do not quote figures on this page.
