The sharpest correction concerns net worth: North Carolina requires $250,000 under GAAP, not a tangible net worth test — "if you have been told NC requires $250,000 tangible net worth, that is the wrong test, and it is wrong in the direction that makes you look worse on paper." On crypto, the Office of the Commissioner of Banks draws a clean line: hosted/custodial wallets, exchanges and stablecoin issuance are inside the licence; non-custodial, self-custody wallets are outside it — "the single most misreported point about North Carolina crypto licensing."
