High-Risk Payments

Acquiring, payouts and settlement for the business types mainstream processors decline — and an honest answer on what is, and is not, supportable.

Some business models are declined by mainstream payment processors as a matter of policy rather than because of anything the business has done. Elevated chargebacks, regulatory exposure, cross-border settlement or the sector itself can put a company outside the risk appetite of ordinary acquiring.

High-risk payments is the work of finding what is genuinely available: specialist acquiring, payout rails, settlement structures and the underwriting evidence those providers expect — or telling you plainly that a flow cannot be banked as designed.

Sectors

More sectors will be added here. For high-risk card acquiring generally, see Card Payments and Payment Processing.

Where the Work Actually Starts

A provider search is the second question. The first is whether the transaction can lawfully be processed at all in the market you are targeting, and whether the flow of funds you have drawn is one an acquiring bank, payment aggregator or payout partner can underwrite.
