Transcript:

Hello, my name is Faisal Khan. I’m a banking and payments consultant. And the question I am answering today is how big is the business to business market? What’s the size of it (B2B)?

The B2B market is very difficult to gauge. There are many numbers that you will find out. There are some are I’ve numbers as low as 10 to 15 trillion dollars a year which is actually too low. Earthport, Earthport does B2B transactions, they put the number at 40 trillion dollars. Citibank and HSBC put the number at 80 and 100 trillion dollars respectively.

No one knows the exact size. Suffice to say it’s in the trillions we know its in the tens of trillions. How big? No one knows.

There are no concrete data measures worldwide that can tell you very very accurately what the B2B market size is.

In most of the conversations that I have had with bankers and payment companies and payment specialist. It seems if I were to average it out and take the high end the lows out. The number we all agree on is somewhere around the 50 trillion dollar mark.

So 50 trillion dollar is my answer and I know when someone asks me on an average otherwise you know we all like to assume that higher than that and there’s more money in the field. So 50 trillion is a very conservative estimate. I personally would like to go with the 75 100 75 to 100 trillion number. But then I don’t have the basis for it but that’s the size of the market for the B2B.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask below. I’ll be happy to answer. Till next time, take care.
